I can't believe it's been a whole year. This coming Saturday is this year's 24 hour comic day. I'd like to take part in it again, though maybe not in exactly the same manner I did previously. It'd be really cool if other people could come up with some form of art they'd like to do during the day (and for as many hours as possible.) It made it more fun to have people around, doing some form of creative work while I was hunched over the drawing board. I know I had a blast last year, even though I didn't actually ever finish the comic.
Maybe this year, huh? Who wants to join me?
And in case you don't know, or weren't around, we've decided to bend the rules to make it any form of art that could take up to 24 hours (or 18, depending on your stamina). As long as we've decided on the format for whatever you're doing beforehand, it's cool. The main idea (for me at least) is to do something you always said you wanted to do, but never schedule the time to do it. You know you want to!!

How bendable are the "art form" rules, exactly?
Does the entire project have to be conceptualized and actualized within the 24 hour time frame? Or can it be an ongoing project that you dedicate the specified 24 hours to?

Last year we had two short videos, a paper on a crazy person's obsession with poptarts, and my comic. I think I had determined that, while it would be good to have it all done on that day, if it means the difference between doing something and not, go with the doing something idea. So if coming up with an idea on the day and actualizing it turns you off to participating, then by all means, go ahead and work on your painting for Melanie.

Ugh, is it really that time again? I'm low enough on sleep as it is, the prospect of 24 hours is twice as daunting this year.
Although there is the whole 24 beers in a case, 24 hours in the day challenge.

We could always combine the two challenges. That might make for an interesting painting...huh, Melanie?

"I'd like to take part in it again, though maybe not in exactly the same manner I did previously."
does that mean you'll actually finish this time? ;)

Yes. But this time it probably won't be on the same scale. Or done in a medium I'd barely worked in. Still thinking things out.
And Chase, weren't you just saying how you never have anything to say when asked, "What did you do over the weekend?"

I am jealous of anyone that has 24 hours to spend doing something they don't HAVE to do. In fact when you take into consideration the fact that those 24 hours are going to kill the following 24 hours I am even more jealous because that means you get to spend the whole weekend doing whatever you want.

I would just like to set the record straight that the "crazy" pop-tart girl was the only one who successfully completed her project within the 24 hour time period.
And she wasn't crazy then, though she is now because there are no pop-tarts in this backwards country.
I would love to participate again but we'll be too busy in KOREA!!!! YAY!
