What do you do when you have a 5' wide video screen projected on your wall?

We got to see Chuck Palahniuk at Bumbershoot. His presentation consisted of him throwing out fake body parts into the audience along with mini bottles of liquer. Then he read his story Guts.
He was going to read a different story (possibly a new one nobody had heard before) but the crowd insisted that he read Guts. They probably know that one, and Fight Club. Invisible Monsters what?
The guy in front of us in the book signing line told Chuck that he had his nipples removed because the thought it would look cool. Chuck complained that he shouldn't have done that, since they're one of his favorite (?) erogenous zones.
Then I was up, and AJ had to get a photo of him groping her with a disembodied hand. (That's how he was posing with the girls. He very politely told each one that he was only using the fake hand.)
It was pretty cool meeting him. Despite all of his crazy disgusting and disturbing stories, he's quite a normal, clean-cut guy. Way less crazy than that Steven King wacko.
So, an update on my last post about the tulip festival. The first group was Andrea's and the second group was mine. I think I won, I guess. I've uploaded the rest of mine to a flickr group, so you can check them out there.
This past weekend Andrea and I decided to take a trip up to the Tulip Festival, about an hours drive north of Seattle. While dodging foreign tourists and landing in mud puddles we decided to have a photo contest. We each picked what we thought were our best two, and now you, the viewer, get to decide who wins. One group below is mine and one group is Andrea's. Cast your vote in the comments below (I would have set up an interactive poll script, but I know some of you would just take that opportunity to hack it).
Group 1:

Afterwards we stopped into the Tulalip Casino. We went in with $20, just to see how long we could last at slots. After losing about 1/3 of that at regular slots we moved onto video poker. After about half an hour of play Andrea had held her own at that point, not losing anymore, and I was actually up $19. We figured paying for the tulip parking and food was good enough and called it a day.
Phew, I'm glad that search is (hopefully) over. I put a deposit on a top floor (2nd floor) apartment at 220 Belmont Ave E. Seems like it's going to be pretty nice.
Seems to have just the same amount of space that I actually use in my current apartment. I looked at a few 1 bedrooms that were as large as our current 2 bedroom, and I had no idea what I'd actually do with the space. 220 Belmont seems very comfortable, without being cramped. I can't wait to fill it with my crap.
In accordance to Melanie's new found "thing to do" I'm posting these. All I have to say is the rest of you better also, because these are being posted at great personal risk to any future love-life. (Damn, I was skinny, what the hell happened?)
Pictured to the left you will see my senior yearbook photo, and below is my junior year prom. Fun stuff. Thanks a lot Melanie...and the point of this was what? To remind us all how silly we looked just 8 years ago?

Thanks to pretty much everyone reading this for making moving out here just about the best thing that's ever happened to me.
Maybe I should start a bleed-blog. Just take a photo of every time I get a nose-bleed, and share it for everyone, along with a little story about how it happened.
I could start with my little 3 hour Christmas nose-bleed story, along with the results of what happens when you lean your head back the whole time, letting it bleed into your stomach. Fun stuff.
Oh yeah, again, I'm sorry, but I'm glad you got a kick out of it.
...or just the beginning!

Very Large VersionThis weekend "the gang" minus Alex went to the Sasquatch! Music Festival being held at The Gorge Amphitheater. It was a bright sunny day. Perhaps a little too sunny. It ended up being a lot of fun, even though I only recognized half the band's names, and was only familiar with the music of 2-3 of them.

This probably ended up being around 5 miles total. It took us an hour and 15 minutes to reach the top, and about 40 minutes to get back down. Not a bad little trip.
Now you see it:
I hope our rent doesn't go up now that we've got a view of Mt. Olympia. I'm dissapointed that I didn't get to see the house come down, even though it was only 50 feet from my head, but once they started in on it at 8 am, the earplugs went in.
Jiggetty-who?
| Prepared for lift-off. This was in preparation for quite the shindig. Apparently the only photo that exists for the event is here. I just barely recall that woman Alex is arm wrestling with. It was an...interesting night. | |
| Ahh, my bedroom. >insert something witty< | |
| And thus begins my 14 (?) hour trek across the USA. I have to admit, the 4 day one was more enjoyable. More leg-room too. I believe one of those two mountains is Mt. St. Helens. My guess is the one on the right. | |
| San Fransisco was strange. The directions I got with my ticket led me to find this little utility entrance with someone at a desk in front of it. They let me through the door which led to the aiport basement where I got on a shuttle. | |
| The shuttle drove through the underbelly of the airport, past all the baggage sorting areas, to the International wing. Apparently by International they meant "Presho-Deserted". There was NOBODY there. | |
| Nobody. And this is where I got to hang out for 3 hours. I was hoping it meant that the flight would be just as deserted. No luck there though. | |
| I think I was beginning to see things at this point. | |
| This is basically how I remember the last 8 hours of my trip. The two flights across country were not comfortable. I was stuck in the middle seat. I couldn't sleep at all. I did manage to get through about 200 pages of Tom Clancy's Without Remorse. Unfortunately, I was full of remorse for picking that one to read, as the first 200 pages were right out of Sin City(or the other way around), not Rainbow 6. | |
| And finally, I'm back to a dial up connection. I have to say, this photo is even funnier when it is half loaded. Don't worry Jed, I'll be back to fill the void real soon. Promise. |
Long entry...follow this way please...
We made it. Took 4 days, 200+ photos and many many hours. The gas station stop breakdown list should be interesting. For now, go look at the photos:
...not quite as dirty as Santorum
Another Thanksgiving. Of course, we were relegated to "the kids table". But that didn't quite make as much sense this year, as half the kids sat inside at the grownup table. As you can see, we got a great view of the festivities.
It looked as if one family was circling the wagons, for fear of attack. But I don't think they had anything to worry about, as their only ones they had to worry about were otherwise occupied.
Will this save Jed from being a pansy?
