Portfolio Site Update

I've updated my portfolio site with a ton more pages with lots more work:

Andrew G Davis Portfolio

I've narrowed down the number of tabs at the top, with just two art categories, basically splitting it between 3D and 2D work. Each page now has title bars to separate things such as design from illustration and drawing. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out, and am glad I was able to re-pose and render my Scribbles character for spot artwork on my front page and bottom of my resume. He still looks pretty good.

As usual, give me a shout if you see something wrong or screwy with it.

Portfolio Site Lauched

Fixed the movie files so they start playing while they're loading, and changed some of the text in the descriptions, per feedback.

New Portfolio Beta

www.imaginationispower.com (Moved to main page)

Let me know what you guys think. There's bits that are a bit rough around the edges, and I need to work on centering the small images vertically in the page (anyone know how with css?).

If you find anything borked, or stupid, or un-intuitive, let me know!

Website Workings

I've been working a little on my site. You'll notice interesting links and photos are now on the left side, as well as some style changes here and there. It's at an ambiguous middle-stage where some things are still funky in IE, and I've only begun playing with background images for different sections (oooh, fade effects!).

Like I'm not doing enough web design.

Site Stats

Anyone know how to get verbose traffic stats concerning links from forums and other scripted sites? Right now I have a ton of incoming hits from places like:
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm
http://ducain.org/hihforum/viewtopic.php
http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx

Webalizer doesn't pick up (at least, doesn't display) the rest of the link. It's impossible to use most forum searches to check the html in the posts. I know it's at least possible to get the full links, because on the pages where I've added the eXTReMe Tracking image, I get results such as this:
http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14450

Unforunately it only lists the last 20, and it doesn't help with links directly to images. I'm insanely curious as to what's being linked to, and how it's being used (I'm nosey). If anyone knows of a traffic stats install I could use that would display this info, or some better way to search these forums/sites, that would be great!

CSSensational

I had a little fun today and did a redesign for Karen. You can see her brand spankin new site here.

Now I need to put some work into mine to get it looking that good.

New Design

Imagination Is Power

I've redesigned my portfolio site a little. Not much cosmetic changes, but I redid the backend a bit, so its easier to change large sections at a time. Well, actually I've changed all the navigation and thumbnails, but its still layed out exactly the same. I didn't get CSS formatting working like I wanted to, so I stuck with frames. I also took the time to make individual pages for each of my images....pain in the ass that was...

Let me know if there's anything wonky going on with it. I think I tested it all, but who knows.

Pretty Bubbles!

I've redesigned quite a bit now. I think the category and individual archive pages are working correctly. Now I want to try changing the links on the right to buttons instead of text.

Oh yeah, and fix up these stupid drawings -->

Forums OPEN!

Well, I set up a forum here. I'm not exactly positive what it could be used for, or if anyone else has ideas for it. But if you can think of something useful for it, lemme know.

Maybe I just like the idea of having almighty mod powers.

New Quotes

Added a new entry on my quotes page, and realized that I should have thought of just making them a category of this page. Then again, I couldn't do subcategories, which I'd want to do... maybe this will be work and such, and the other will be thoughts...

Plus I'd fux0r your links. Ha!

But then how will everyone know when I spout words of wisdom? Guess I'll add a sidebar here that'll update when I add things there. Later.

Website Plans

Fixed up my resume, in light of finding out my work has been in a show for a few months the beginning of the year.

I need to change a few things around on my portfolio page. I want to keep it simple, yet there is a lot I want to show off. I'm not quite sure how to balance that yet, and the toolbar on the top of my page has gotten a little gangly.

Plus I really need to add work to my start page to entice people further, and add an artist's statement. Also make notes on pages with work that have been shown.

New Bit'o'the Web

I've started a new log to collect quotes and thoughts. I suppose I can add something so others can suggest quotes. Feel free to comment on existing quotes though.

Bear in the River!

Changed a few things around here...probably going to change it a bit more, as I learn and do more with MT, plugins for MT and RSS feeds. I'm so just talking to myself. :)

Updated Webpage

I've added two new categories to my webpage, game and coloring. Hopefully most people have their screen set at 1024x. All the nice little linkies should work.

Movable Type Works!

I finally got around to setting up movable type on my page. Hopefully in the coming days I'll get it worked out so my daily content will be available here. My portfolio webpage will be located at Imagination Is Power and this page will be my daily/weekly work, and ramblings. That'll keep my professional portfolio separate from my sketches and such.

Monday, 9/17/01

I'm trying out another layout, hopefully I'll update here as to what's changed on the site. Right now I've just added a guestbook, and the storyboard and animatic for my Final 3D project.. I believe all my illustration work from last quarter is up on the illustration page.

Eventually I'll think of something really simple and cool for this page, and maybe fix some of my other pages so you don't have to hit the back button for the images. We'll see....

Oh, I also found out my final project in Renderman was put up by the professor here.
